Privacy policy

Short version: we don’t collect your personal information, and your checkup progress never leaves your device.

Effective October 19, 2026. ToolsForCredit.com is an educational website. We built it to be useful without collecting your personal information, and this policy explains exactly what that means.

Information we collect

None that identifies you. The site has no accounts, no sign-up forms and no advertising, and we don’t sell, rent or share personal information.

Your credit checkup progress

When you check off steps in the credit checkup, your progress is stored only in your own browser’s local storage, on your device. It is never sent to us. The utilization calculator runs entirely in your browser, and the numbers you enter are not saved or transmitted. You can clear your progress anytime with the “Start over” button or by clearing your browser data.

Cookies

We don’t set cookies for tracking or advertising.

Service providers

Our site is hosted by Cloudflare, which may process technical information such as IP addresses and browser type to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads. Their use of that data is governed by their own privacy policies.

Links to other sites

We link to government agencies, the credit bureaus and nonprofits. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we don’t control them. Links open in a new tab so you always know when you’ve left our site.

Email

If you email us at hello@toolsforcredit.com, we use your message only to reply to you. Please don’t send sensitive information such as Social Security or account numbers.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If our practices change, for example if we add analytics or a newsletter, we’ll update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect.
